HISTORY

The company that would become Deltak was formed out of a think tank at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in the early 1990s. In 1996, Eduprise, Inc. was created.

Eduprise was a pioneer e-learning services company that partnered with traditional colleges and universities to provide fee for service course development, faculty training, and 24/7 help desk support for schools that saw the early potential for online education.

In 2002, Collegis Inc., an IT outsourcing provider focused on higher education, acquired Eduprise. Collegis was then acquired by SunGard Data Systems in March 2004. At that time, a subset of the academic division of Collegis became an independent, private entity and was renamed Deltak.  During this time period, the full service partnership model was developed and in addition to course development, faculty training and help desk support, Deltak added components of market research and strategy as well as student recruitment and retention services.

Now and in the future, Deltak is committed to being an innovator and thought leader in online higher education - working with our partner schools to incorporate the latest technologies and develop new technologies that will help to improve the online education experience.

Much of Deltak’s current senior management team have been working with Deltak and its predecessor organizations since 2000, assisting institutions with the development and growth of their online programs.
